Michael Saylor is an American entrepreneur, executive, inventor, author, and philanthropist. Born in 1965 to a military family in Lincoln, Nebraska, he spent his early years on U.S. Air Force bases around the world. After graduating from high school as valedictorian, he attended MIT on a full Air Force ROTC scholarship, earning dual degrees in aeronautics and astronautics, as well as in science, technology, and society.
In 1989, at the age of 24, Saylor founded MicroStrategy, a company built on his vision of delivering intelligence everywhere. Under his leadership, MicroStrategy became a global leader in enterprise analytics and mobility software, serving thousands of organizations worldwide. Saylor holds over 48 patents and has been credited with innovations in relational analytics, mobile computing, and cloud-based technologies.
In addition to his business achievements, Saylor authored "The Mobile Wave," a best-selling book that anticipated the transformative impact of mobile technology. He also established The Saylor Foundation, which supports various philanthropic causes, including the Saylor Academy, offering free education to millions of students globally.
