Pedro Urruchurtu Noselli
DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, MARIA CORINA MACHADO - VENTE VENEZUELA
Pedro Urruchurtu is a Political Scientist, Activist and Director of International Relations of María Corina Machado and Vente Venezuela.
Pedro Urruchurtu is a Venezuelan activist, political scientist, and university professor. He currently serves as the Director of International Relations in the office of opposition leader María Corina Machado, president-elect Edmundo González Urrutia, and the ConVzla campaign, a role that led to his political persecution by the Venezuelan regime.
As a result, he was forced to seek asylum at the Argentine Embassy in Caracas, where he was held hostage by the regime for over 400 days until he was rescued in a precise and remarkable international operation led by the United States. From inside the embassy, and despite constant harassment, Urruchurtu successfully led the opposition campaign’s international relations, managing contact with governments, foreign ministries, parliaments, political and social organisations, and allies of Venezuela’s democratic cause.
He also serves as the International Affairs Coordinator of Vente Venezuela and the Political Parties Coordinator of the Liberal Network of Latin America (RELIAL), where he previously served as Vice President. Additionally, he is a graduate of Georgetown University's Global Competitiveness Leadership Program. He earned his degree in Political Science, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the School of Political Science at the Universidad Central de Venezuela.
