Anaïse Kanimba

Anaïse Kanimba is a global development strategist and human rights advocate working at the intersection of democracy, digital sovereignty, and strategic advocacy. She has led cross-border campaigns to challenge authoritarianism, defend political prisoners, and counter transnational repression.

Along with her family, she led the global campaign that secured the release of her father, Paul Rusesabagina, the real-life figure portrayed in Hotel Rwanda, after he was kidnapped and illegally imprisoned by the Rwandan government from 2020 to 2023. Anaïse has testified before the U.S. Congress, the UK Parliament, and the European Parliament, and her writing and advocacy have been featured in major outlets such as CNN, The Washington Post, and The New York Times.

She is the Director of the Africa Bitcoin Institute, a research hub advancing dialogue on Bitcoin’s role in strengthening digital sovereignty, financial systems, and inclusive innovation across the African continent. A founding member of the World Liberty Congress, she continues to build global coalitions and shape conversations that promote freedom, justice, and human dignity.
